On 82-acres, hugging the crescent curve of Kahuwai Bay, 125 individual hale offer guests a choice of picturesque garden views, tranquil lagoon settings and dramatic ocean panoramas. Nine styles range in size from intimate to large enough to accommodate multiple families. So distinctive is each hale that many guests request their same hale upon their return.

There are three distinctive areas of the resort where the accommodations are located. The south side of the resort with the grassy and sandy areas, palm trees and tropical foliage is the favorite of most families or couples who enjoy a more South Pacific environment.

The lagoon area is a favorite of many of our guests who enjoy seeing and hearing the birds, ducks, swans and other wildlife found in very tropical settings. The water in the lagoons is brackish which eliminates most of the mosquitoes and bugs.

The hales on the north side are built on the 1801 lava flow. This gives a beautiful stark contrast between the brilliant blue Pacific, natural black lava and tropical foliage planted around the hales. The north side with its black sand beach is a favorite of couples who especially enjoy the peace, quiet and tranquility of Kona Village.
